Cute Overload!
03-14-06

So, as I am sure you all do, I get a lot of email forwards. And some are pretty random, some are really funny, some are kinda lame, and some provide me with blissful hours of mindless procrastination, but of all of those, the one that has stuck with me the longest is the one about the 16 baby pandas in China. If you haven't received it, it contains a lot of pictures of baby pandas like this one:

Baby pandas!!! They are so tiwerd!!

I don't really know why, but of all of the cute things I have seen in my life, these pictures in my Inbox have melted my heart the most. Maybe it's the fact that they are holdable version of big bears... or maybe it's their hidden black eyes... or maybe because their little heads are so big they can barely (bearly?) lift them... or maybe... oh, man, who cares why, they are just the cutiest!

Since I found myself looking at the email a few times a day and thinking about holding my very own adorable little baby panda whenever I was away from my computer, I decided it was time to do something about it. So, like any normal person would do in that situation, I asked my mom if we could buy a baby panda bear. After she tried to convince me for about an hour that that wasn't possible, she offered the compromise of painting Libby to look like a panda. I disregarded it at the time, but then I wondered (I mean, if it's my only chance), what would Libby look like as a panda?

And I had the email's picture of the scientist and the baby panda:

and so I made a picture of what I would look like with a baby Libby-panda:

And I had the email's picture of a baby panda lying down:

and so I made a picture of a baby Libby-panda lying down:

Libby's tiwerd, too!

Hm. That works alright, I suppose, although Libby does look more like a raccoon than a panda. But, even so, it might be more worth it to buy Libby some hair dye than to try to confiscate an endangered species from China. I guess Libby's cute, too. :)

I hope I didn't include too many pictures of the baby pandas so that you also become obsessed with their cuteness! And thanks for reading my confession of my newest cute-addiction!
